This post is for anyone who can find information on deserts. Here's a quick fact: 100 square metres of ordinary land is turning to desert a day. What do you think is causing this to happen?
Another reason is areas around the desert are also very dry and often crops are re-planted in the same spot and it sucks up all the nutrience causing the soil to turn to dust.

I think that 'desert spread' happens because wind spreads the the sand, causing the desert to spread.
